The “Washup” integrates the washing machine with a toilet flush. Right now it is a conceptual design by Sevin Coskun but it has potential on a couple levels. All the water used to both wash and rinse a load of laundry is literally “money down the drain” so why not “recycle” that water and use it to flush the toilet? The “Washup” also offers a solution to the problem of having enough space for a washing machine in small living quarters. Having spent more years than I would like to remember in a studio apartment, this would have been a great alternative to a weekly trip to the Laundromat and at the same time it’s environmentally friendly!
