In effort to move along the environmental message, British Liberal Democrats announced plans to abolish both gasoline and diesel powered vehicles by 2040.
To reach this goal, the politicians proposed increasing Britain’s car tax by £2000 or about $4000 US Dollars for larger vehicles like SUVs and lower emission vehicles would be taxed with less or no tax. The plan would also include talks with car manufacturers in providing vehicles using alternative technologies such as electric batteries. The politicians have also suggested switching completely to alternative fuel sources, raise highway tolls to fund a national rail system and increase use of green taxes to reduce pollution.
