The first solar carport offered internationally, the “Lifeport” created by Envision can generate power not only for the home but can be used to directly recharge electric vehicles. It’s the first fully integrated and system-built photovoltaic solar carport for commercial, residential and light industrial markets.
The cost-effective solar garage protects cars and also offers a clean renewable energy. Twenty-four solar panels covering 22 square foot carport could deliver about 16.4 kilowatt hours per day. Move up to 24 modules and it could cover 100% of an average single family home’s needs.
Made of recycled light gauge steel framework, it can be self-assembled via a do-it-yourself kit which includes an instruction manual and videos. Good Luck!

I have no doubt that over the next 20 years there will be a vast surge in the use of solar power to recharge electric cars. This leaves me wondering how we will pay to build and maintain all the roads and bridges these polution free vehicles will be driving on. My guess is you will see a lot of highways turned to toll roads, licence plates going to $300 or more per year.
Just as GM bought out the trolley lines after WWII in order to destroy them, look for the oil companies to try to do every thing they can to derail this also.
Exellent idea but…. How much?? $$$!!!??
Just think of the positive changes things like this could bring if only they were made affordable to the average person. I would LOVE to “go green” but the things that really help, are too expensive for the average middle class.
The usual unanswered questions:
How much?
Construction details?
Inside views?
Etc Etc
This is so cool, disregarding the cost. It just another proof that solar appliences are gaining popularity as time passes by. Another cool solar product is the solar powered pool cleaner robot.
Brilliant idea! The future will make all these things available for our childrens.
